About NEO ATLAS

NEO ATLAS is a Mac app for extracting a building from construction and redevelopment PDFs, web pages and images, creating and editing an estimated 3D model, and placing it in a city scene. It is currently in development.

NEO ATLAS is a separate product from 都市再開発NEO. This page provides support specifically for NEO ATLAS.

Main features

  • Preview source images and pages, automatically select a building, and manually refine the selection.
  • Create and edit estimated 3D models, resize height while preserving proportions, and export to and reimport from apps such as Blender.
  • Search addresses, place models on a map, rotate the view, and toggle before and after placement. Show surrounding 3D buildings and hide selected existing buildings.
  • Save named viewpoints and an image of the current map view.
  • Use up to five project tabs, save projects, create and restore backups, and reopen recent projects.
  • Manage dimensions and sources, revisit the relevant source page, run pre-export checks, and diagnose connections and features.
  • Use Japanese or English. Automatic source summaries with Apple Intelligence are available on eligible Macs.

Getting started

  • 1. Import a PDF, web page or image you have permission to use, and check the target page in the preview.
  • 2. Select the building and manually refine the cutout if needed.
  • 3. Generate an estimated model, then review and adjust its dimensions, height and sources.
  • 4. Search the address, place the model on the map and rotate the view to check its relationship with the surroundings.
  • 5. Save the project and create a backup before important changes. Run the pre-export check before exporting the model.

Is an estimated model an accurate reconstruction?

No. When only a rendering is available, the 3D model estimates the shape from that image. It does not accurately recover unseen backs, depths or other hidden geometry.

CAD/BIM accuracy for detailed design, structural safety and surveying accuracy are not guaranteed. Use authoritative drawings and professional review for design or construction decisions.

Import or building selection is not working

Check that the original source opens and the target image or page is clear. Network conditions or viewing restrictions may prevent web imports. Do not bypass access restrictions.

Choose a page showing the building more clearly, then manually refine the automatic selection. If you have permission, testing another image or PDF can help isolate the issue.

Does changing height stretch the building?

Height changes preserve the building’s proportions. This is not a vertical-only stretch: other dimensions, such as width, change proportionally. Check the resulting dimensions.

How do I specify addresses?

For example, enter 東京都千代田区丸の内1丁目, including the prefecture, municipality, district and street number. The Japanese address-data search does not support facility names alone. In English, enter an address including the city and country, such as 1 Apple Park Way, Cupertino, CA, USA, then verify the result on the map.

Separate locations with semicolons (;), for example 東京都千代田区丸の内1丁目; 東京都千代田区大手町1丁目. Japanese search also accepts Japanese punctuation and commas. Searches in English mode or with Latin letters accept up to five locations; commas remain part of an address.

Placement at the midpoint of multiple locations is temporary, not a property boundary. A result may be a representative point for a district, so always verify it on the map. Use up to five project tabs to manage separate work.

Surrounding buildings are missing or look different

Surrounding 3D buildings vary by region, survey or production year, and available data. Some regions have no coverage, and data may represent a different point in time. Missing buildings do not necessarily indicate an app fault.

Select and hide an existing building that overlaps your placed model. This changes the display, not the provider’s source data.

Saving and restoring backups

Save your project during work and create a backup before major edits or exporting to another app. Reopen a saved project or use recent projects to resume.

Restore from a backup you have kept. Save your current work separately before restoring, then check the sources, models and placement. Recovery cannot be guaranteed if the backup is lost.

What if Apple Intelligence is unavailable?

Automatic source summaries are available on eligible Macs. If summarization is unavailable, that does not make all other features unavailable.

The current summarization implementation uses an on-device model. This does not mean every Apple Intelligence feature always runs entirely on the device.

Troubleshooting

Save your current project before retrying an operation. Use connection and feature diagnostics to determine whether it needs a network connection or only fails with a particular source.

If export fails, check the pre-export results and destination. When editing in Blender or another app, keep the original file and check geometry and dimensions after reimport. Contact support below if the issue persists.
